| Overview: About the BMW Car Club of British Columbia |
|
The BMW Car Club of BC is a non profit club serving the needs of BMW enthusiasts in British Columbia Canada.
Our club was formed April of 1998 to meet the needs of local BMW owners and enthusiasts (we are the proud owners of a variety of cars from 1937 vintage to current models). The club formally organized itself in May of 1998 when the 6 founding directors held a meeting and set the ground rules for the clubs goals and day to day operation.
Our founding mission and goal is to: promote the enjoyment and sharing of good will and fellowship derived from owning a BMW automobile, and engage in such social and other events as may be agreeable to the membership, in harmony with the Club's general objectives.
We operate under the guidelines set forth by the International Council of BMW Clubs in Munich, and we are a member club of the BMW Club of Canada .
The International Council Guidelines state in part "...that all BMW Clubs are democratically run, apolitical, multi-denominational and non- profit-orientated. The various touristic, motorsport and social events organized by the Clubs should aim to cultivate a positive image of the BMW marque and company. It stands to reason, for every club member is automatically an ambassador of BMW. "
We hope you find that we strive hard in our club to apply those guidelines.
We promote cooperation with other BMW Clubs throughout the world through the exchange of ideas and suggestions, and cooperation with the International Council of BMW Clubs .
As a member of the BMW Club of Canada, we have grown to become the largest member club representing BMW owners and enthusiasts in our country.
The BMW Car Club of BC is a full member of the BMW Club of Canada .
As a member club of the BMW Club of Canada, the BMW Car Club of British Columbia is also affilicated with the International Council of BMW Clubs which governs BMW Clubs around the world. Recognized clubs are supported by the International Council which provides the club link to BMW AG and grants clubs the use of the BMW name and logo for club use. Affiliated clubs are NOT authorized to act on behalf of, and are NOT representatives of, or for BMW Canada Inc., or BMW AG.

| Bylaws |
|
|
|
|
The BMW Car Club of British Columbia is run and operated as
a non-profit club for the benefit of its members.
Although we are not incorporated, we have adopted the following constitution and by-laws that conform to the Societies Act of BC for non-profit organizations.
|
Our current Bylaws wer
updated and the changes were enacted at the 2001 AGM
The club has evolved considerably
since its inception in 1998.
At the 2001 AGM we voting to affiliate with the newly reorganized
BMW Club
of Canada, and to that end we also
reviewed and revised our by-laws. The changes are there so that
our bylaws more closely adhere to the requirements of the Societies
Act of BC, since with affiliation we will be able to legally
incorporate the club using the BMW name as part of our club identity. |

| Linking to us and link exchange policy |
|
Thinks to know about linking out site and our guidelines for reciprocal links |
|
Please
consider these guidelines when asking for links to our site |
|
|
Things to remember about
BMW CC of BC:
We are a club for BMW owners and enthusiasts
We are a non profit club, we can not endorse commercial ventures
on a for profit basis.
We are located on the West Coast of Canada.
We are not related to or endorsed by BMW Canada Inc, BMW NA or
BMW AG.
We are a member club of the BMW Club of Canada .
Our purpose is non commercial.
Please do not steal our logo, it is our identity, and has
usage restrictions. Check
here for info. Written permission is required to use our
logo.
|
Thanks to the popularity of our site, we get a
fair number of requests for reciprocal links. This can be both
a blessing and a real challenge. Since we are a club, and a non
profit organization, responding to link requests from commercial
sites is often an issue. It is also complicated by the fact that
our logo
contains not only our club info, but also the copyrighted BMW
logo which we use with permission. So for those of you who are
busy surfing, please note our guidelines for reciprocal links.
We know they are subjective in some cases, but then this is our
club, and we have guidelines on dealing with commercial interactions
with a non profit such as ourselves.
|
|
Although somewhat subjective our criteria for reciprocal
links include:
Good design & layout, Reasonable download speed, Interesting
& reliable content, Contains NO offensive or illegal material,
Not primarily commercial content, Does not represent a political
or "special interest" group, Regularly updated content,
Site owner must be easily reachable, the address and phone numbers
of the site owner of business must be easy to find on the site.
BMW or automotive help is main site subject
We do not enter into reciprocal link
arrangements to drive web traffic, and we do not use banner advertising,
or other link tracking methods.
|
|
If you feel your site has something to offer our
members, and generally meets the above guidelines, please feel
free to send us an email with the URL to your site, and a brief
description of why we should link to it.
Send submissions to: webmaster@bmwccbc.org
